Despite the worst ecological disaster in the history of America, Transocean executives still receive safety bonuses, but, citing humanitarian concerns, they donate them to the Deepwater Horizon Fund. Thats very generous of them considering that by corporate standards, they probably deserved the safety bonuses. They probably saved the company billions by cutting back on safety related expenses.

It great that people have the time and energy for scientific study, but its always fascinating to see what people choose as the subject of their study; its even more fascinating looking at what people will spend millions of dollars to create.

With all the problems in the world, from war to hunger, I can’t for my life figure out anyone would spend so much time, money, and energy on this:

Okay so here’s a juicy one about Obama’s pending decision to send more troops to Afghanistan. It seems the president is in a bind. He’s under pressure from both sides. One on hand he’s got his constituency, the people who actually voted for him, stepping up demands to end the war, bring the troops home, and spend the money here at home. On the other hand, he has military officials and other academic think tanks telling him to escalate the war.

I can’t get over this one quote from this guy at the Brookings Institution. Check it out,

“The moment of truth is arriving for what we want to do with Afghanistan,” said Bruce Riedel of the Brookings Institution. “Politically, this puts enormous pressure on the president to increase the number of resources.”

What we want to do? What exactly do they want to do in Afghanistan? What about what I want to do in Afghanistan? Personally I see great orchards of apricots and almonds abound with sheep and foul tilling the soil. And I am sure that if it were a country of plenty there wouldn’t be much of a problem. What would it take to allow everyone the capacity to grow their own food?

Personally, I am getting sick and tired of interventionist policies throwing money all over the world. But where is all this money coming from? Its coming from banks who print it out of thin air so we, the American taxpayers, will be obligated to pay it back and with interest.

Then there is this one:

“The call for more troops is opposed by some left-leaning members of Obama’s own Democratic Party, whose support the president needs to overhaul health care.”

So only leftist liberals oppose his plan. Republican Ron Paul has been a vocal opponent of the escalation why not mention his name? What it is it leftist liberals vs. professional academic and military analysts?

Frankly, I won’t be surprised if he sends more troops and financial aid to Afghanistan. After all thats what his powerful corporate sponsors want him to do. But with reporting from major news sources like this one, how can an honest antiwar debate emerge?

I, I, I am flabbergasted. Are we supposed to go through this every September 11th? The government is playing all these war games and of course they’re doing it just to protect us. You know, just like the Treasury Dept. gave out trillions of dollars to banks so they would start lending money again. This Sept. 11th they had WarGames going on with the coast card right next to the pentagon where Obama was attending a memorial for the victims of the 911 attack eight years ago. The strange thing is the government was playing war games in 2001 when we were really being attacked and those games made it more difficult to respond to real threats that were taking place on that day. I am real sick of government politicizing victims of national tragedies while they themselves make us more vulnerable to yet even more tragedies.

Okay so earlier this week a UN panel declared that the dollar should cease to be the reserve currency for the world. What on earth happened? The dollar was the currency for decades and now?

I am sorry but I can hardly take it anymore. I am just getting sick and tired of all these fascist commie pigs taking over government. I mean people are actually advocating having the the government create a public not for profit institution to manage the health care of Americans. Where are all these people coming from? Any bonafide true-blood American knows that the best institution to manage anybody’s health is an insurance company. Duh?! Its really hard to believe that people could actually trust a government bureaucrat to decide what is best for my health. I’d hand my health care over to a corporate bureaucrat anyday of the week, excepy maybe Sunday. The corporate bureaucrat would at least have the sense to know that the free market would naturally and efficiently provide for my health needs, and, even better, help the economy.

Sorry I am confused?!?

Okay so Obama has taken steps to fullfill the promise of a drawdown of military troops in Iraq and has pulled a few thousand troops out. However, he also increased the number of military contractors by an even greater amount, thus effectivley increasing United States’ military presence- albeit off the books.
